Speechify

Speechify is a text-to-speech and AI voice platform that reads PDFs, books, documents and web content aloud across mobile, desktop and browser products.

Speechify is a text-to-speech platform that uses AI voice technology to change how people consume written content, including PDFs, books, documents, articles and websites. The company was founded in 2017 by Cliff Weitzman, a dyslexia advocate, with a mission rooted in accessibility and inclusivity. It reports more than 55 million users worldwide and supports content in over 60 languages.

Its product range spans mobile apps for iOS and Android, a Mac desktop application, a web platform and browser extensions for Chrome and Edge. The Chrome extension was named Chrome Extension of the Year by Google. Beyond text-to-speech, the company's technical work covers AI voice generation, voice cloning, dubbing, voice typing and natural language processing. Its dictation tools are designed to help users write faster, by up to five times the speed of typing.

Speechify operates across the accessibility, education, productivity, consumer technology and publishing verticals, and has a global user base. It won the 2025 Apple Design Award for inclusivity, and has partnered with figures including Snoop Dogg, MrBeast and Gwyneth Paltrow to promote accessibility. The stated focus of its products is to help users read faster, retain more information and access content they would otherwise find challenging.
