Joblinge

Non-profit founded in 2008 that helps disadvantaged young people aged 15-27 into apprenticeships and jobs in Germany via a social franchise model with 30+ locations.

JOBLINGE is Germany's leading non-profit organisation fighting youth unemployment. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Munich, it works with young people aged 15 to 27 who face difficult starting conditions, helping them into apprenticeships and employment. The organisation operates through a social franchise model with over 30 locations spread across nine independent regions in Germany, among them Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne.

Its work rests on three pillars. PLAN A focuses on engaging and activating young people at the outset. The JOBLINGE Program is a six-month placement course in which participants develop social and professional skills through group projects, receive guidance on their strengths and suitable career paths, and gain practical experience through company visits, workshops and internships. Basecamps provide continued support after placement. The programme reports a success rate of 80%, and thousands of young people have moved into training and work.

JOBLINGE's approach combines engagement from the business community, government and private citizens. Its stated aims are twofold: to create personal perspectives for young people and to help close the skilled worker gap in Germany. The organisation works across youth employment and apprenticeships, education and workforce development, and vocational training.
