Altametrics builds a connected, AI-powered Restaurant Operating System for multi-unit foodservice businesses. Founded in 1997 by Mitesh Gala and Ajay Shiv, the company began as an inventory system built for the founders' family Jack in the Box franchise; its internet product launched in 2000. The platform now powers operations at more than 50,000 restaurant locations across 27 countries, with over 250,000 active system users. Altametrics is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, and remains founder-owned, with no external funding disclosed.

The product suite covers workforce management, labor scheduling and timekeeping, demand forecasting, inventory and food cost management, accounting and back-office automation, business intelligence and real-time reporting, food safety and temperature monitoring, and customer loyalty and point-of-sale solutions. Its workforce tools schedule more than 4 million employees annually, while the inventory and food management module handles over $8 billion in annual food spend.

Technical work spans artificial intelligence and machine learning, demand forecasting, real-time reporting, and integrations across point-of-sale and back-office systems. The customer base ranges from small family businesses to large global chains, including McDonald's, Wendy's, Outback Steakhouse, Five Guys, Chipotle, and CiCi's Pizza.
