James Irwin Charter Schools is seeking experienced and motivated Wrestling Coaches to join our athletic program for the upcoming school year. We are hiring for Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions and are looking for individuals who are passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the mat.
Our wrestling program emphasizes discipline, character development, teamwork, and competitive excellence. Coaches will play an important role in mentoring students while helping build a strong and competitive program.
Season Details
- Official wrestling season: January – March
- Preseason and offseason training opportunities available
- Practices typically held after school with competitions throughout the season
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead effective wrestling practices
- Teach wrestling fundamentals, technique, conditioning, and match strategy
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and team culture
- Supervise athletes during practices, matches, and team events
- Collaborate with school administration and athletic leadership
- Help support offseason training and athlete development
Qualifications
- Prior wrestling coaching experience preferred (Head or Assistant level)
- Wrestling background as a competitor and/or coach
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Must pass required background checks and school clearances
Compensation
- Stipend range: $1,500 – $4,000
- Based on coaching role, experience, and responsibilities
