Description

The opportunity

We are currently looking for an Underground Mining Engineer to join the team at our Duketon operations.

Working closely with our UG mining contractor Barminco, you will provide technical advice, planning and methodology of all aspects of the mine site underground mining operations.

This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Contribute to monitoring of all mine activities including ventilation
  • Perform stope designs, drill & blast plans, stope re-cons
  • Translating 3MS schedule to actionable weekly plans
  • Input to the mine design, planning & schedule
  • Provide rolling development and planning schedules and other relevant information as required
  • Communicate with the mining contractor, Shift Supervisor, crew and technical staff to develop and effectively execute mine plans and schedules
  • Ensure Regis’ mining data is maintained to a high standard. This includes mining contract data, mine schedules, drill and blast plans, technical and other reports associated with the Company’s projects and assets
  • Ensure that mining activities and expenditures are maintained in line with agreed strategies, priorities, programs and budgets.  This would involve managing systems for measuring operational performance and timing against targets and providing mining expertise to determine solutions to technical and other operational difficulties that may occur
  • Regular underground inspections to determine compliance to plan and to identify any improvement opportunities
  • Project work and assess/develop improvement opportunities as required

About you

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • Demonstrated underground mining operational experience in a hard rock environment
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and Deswik capability
  • Mine Rescue and first aid experience desirable
  • Underground time completed desirable but not mandatory
  • Current WA class C manual driver’s licence
