-
AI Innovation: Explore and use modern AI-enabled development practices to improve delivery speed, code quality, and team efficiency across data pipeline engineering, testing, documentation, and support activities.
-
Data Ingestion: Extend ingestion and transformation pipelines for new data sources, ensuring reliable history handling and production-ready outputs.
-
Warehouse Management: Maintain and extend the Data Warehouse, ensuring performance, scalability, and alignment with evolving business needs.
-
Governance & Quality: Implement robust data quality, governance, and lineage controls (e.g., schema validation, integrity checks, freshness monitoring) aligned with internal standards.
-
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Data Scientists to ensure data assets are optimised for modelling and experimentation.
-
Efficiency & Scale: Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to design data models that balance efficiency, maintainability, and business relevance.
-
Operational Excellence: Monitor and optimise compute usage for performance and cost efficiency.
-
Reliability: Ensure code quality and pipeline reliability through comprehensive testing practices including unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
You Will Also Bring:
-
Experience: Experience at a senior level in data engineering, with hands-on delivery of complex data solutions.
-
Cloud Expertise: Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake, and cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
-
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering and strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
-
Tools: Strong experience with data transformation and modelling tools (e.g., dbt or similar) and familiarity with workflow automation like Airflow, Git, or Databricks Workflows.
-
Engineering Standards: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and implementing DataOps principles in production environments.
-
Data Modelling: Solid understanding of data modelling approaches including star and snowflake schemas and slowly changing dimensions.
-
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Highly Desirable:
-
AI Tooling: Experience applying AI tools in a data engineering context to accelerate development while maintaining code quality, security, and governance standards.
-
Databricks Specialist: Hands-on experience with Databricks, including the use of Delta Live Tables (DLT) for orchestration.
-
BI Support: Background in supporting analytics and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) through curated data marts.
Our benefits and perks:
- Competitive salary package
