Job Summary
HUAWEI UK R&D Ipswich office is a world-leading center for optoelectronics R&D, dedicated to pioneering advanced optical chip technologies and delivering high-value localized supply chain solutions. To support our onsite procurement team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Procurement Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the overall purchasing strategy for service, materials and equipment to achieve the target of reducing TCO, enhancing efficiency and transaction safety
Analyze internal requirements and market supply resources to support the overall purchasing strategy for Procurement related categories – HR, Equipment & Instrument, software, and R&D service, etc.
Demonstrate a strong service mindset, prioritizing local business value creation and ensuring robust delivery assurance to support continuous factory operations.
Develop, maintain and execute procurement strategies of Bragg Research Center to gain competitive advantages and ensure high-quality delivery
Sourcing for new suppliers, maintain prefer supplier pool and manage the supply resource structure to extend the cooperation with strategic suppliers
Control and optimize the purchasing process, monitor its’ status and make optimization suggestions for beneficial new requirement handlings
Evaluate the performance of the suppliers and drive improvement

Person Specification:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or related major
At least 3 year's work experience in Procurement or similar fields
Preferred to have a solid understanding of manufacturing plant processes and semiconductor fabrication workflows
Preferred to have proven track record of successful procurement experience specifically in the fields of raw materials, high-precision instruments, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment
Extensive experience in cross-cultural team communication, with the ability to bridge gaps between local operations and global headquarter
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with team spirit, openness for an international environment and Chinese business culture
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced changing environment
High flexibility and motivated working attitude
Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
Willingness to travel within Europe
