Job Title: Men’s Soccer Coach

Location: Macon Early College

Position Summary

The Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive, education-based soccer program that supports the academic and personal growth of student-athletes. The coach will emphasize skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and accountability while ensuring compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, games, and team activities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program aligned with the school’s mission
  • Instruct student-athletes in fundamental and advanced soccer skills, tactics, and conditioning

Student-Athlete Development

  • Promote academic success and monitor eligibility of all players
  • Foster leadership, discipline, respect, and teamwork
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive team environment

Game & Practice Management

  • Design and execute effective practice plans and seasonal schedules
  • Prepare the team for competition through scouting and game strategy
  • Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and team travel

Compliance & Administration

  • Adhere to all district, conference, and state athletic association policies
  • Maintain accurate records (rosters, statistics, equipment inventory, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with administration, parents, and student-athletes

Program Support

  • Manage equipment and uniform distribution/collection
  • Support fundraising efforts and promote the soccer program
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Previous soccer coaching or playing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and game strategies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively mentor high school/early college student-athletes
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must meet all district and state coaching requirements

Working Conditions

  • Availability for after-school practices, games, and occasional weekends
  • Travel required for away competitions
  • Ability to demonstrate soccer skills and actively participate in practices
