Position Title: Head Boys' Soccer Coach - JV
Department/Section: Flagstaff High School
Supervisor: Assistant Principal/Athletic Director
Salary: Special Service Contract - $3,000.00
Summary
Flagstaff High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Boys' Soccer Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, helping them develop their skills, sportsmanship, and love for the game of golf. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soccer, a passion for coaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing soccer training sessions and practice schedules.
- Assist with travel for Boys' Soccer team
- Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes to enhance their skills and understanding of the game.
- Help organize and supervise team practices, competitions, and events.
- Monitor and support the academic and athletic progress of student-athletes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
- Maintain communication with parents, school administration, and other stakeholders regarding team activities and student-athlete development.
- Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies, as well as state and national governing body rules.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on coaching techniques and strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing soccer at a competitive level, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Prior coaching experience, particularly in soccer, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Must pass a background check as required by Flagstaff High School.
- A valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to events.
- Once hired, get FUSD White Fleet Certified
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and NFHS Concussion in Sport Certifications
