Job Summary:

JOB DESCRIPTION – MARKETING ASSOCIATE – RUGBY WORLD CUP

Location: Sydney, Australia

Division: Ticketmaster APAC

Line Manager: Client Marketing Manager – Sport

Contract Terms: Fixed Term till December 2027, 38 hours per week

THE TEAM

The Ticketmaster APAC Marketing team delivers strategic marketing support and campaign execution across all client and consumer activity. We align with global and local objectives to drive awareness, build fan engagement, and maximise ticket sales for our partners – including venues, promoters, and producers.

Beyond campaign delivery, the team also supports broader marketing services and plays a key role in developing and activating innovative initiatives that elevate Ticketmaster’s product offerings and market presence.

THE JOB

As a Marketing Associate – Rugby World Cup, you’ll support the broader event marketing team in delivering integrated, data-led campaigns for one of the world’s premier sporting events.

You’ll play a key role in planning and executing marketing activity that drives awareness, engagement, and ticket sales across all Rugby World Cup fixtures. Working across Ticketmaster’s owned, earned and paid channels, you’ll help bring to life compelling fan-first campaigns that support on-sales, key tournament milestones, priority matches, and sell-out targets.

Beyond campaign execution, you’ll take a proactive role in monitoring match-by-match sales performance, identifying trends, and highlighting risks and opportunities early. You’ll help translate performance insights into targeted marketing initiatives—developing tactical campaigns to accelerate sales for priority fixtures, optimise underperforming matches, and capitalise on high-demand moments.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating campaign builds, briefing creative, deploying CRM communications, supporting digital performance activity, and ensuring accurate event set-up across marketing platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams including Digital, CRM, Partnerships, PR, Analytics and Operations to deliver seamless campaign execution from launch through to tournament delivery.

You’ll be hands-on across campaign management systems, reporting dashboards, content management platforms and marketing automation tools, ensuring all activity is delivered with precision, efficiency and measurable impact.

Analytical, solutions-focused and detail-oriented, you’ll regularly review campaign and match performance, provide actionable recommendations, and take initiative in proposing new activity aligned to sales objectives. Passionate about global sport and major events, you understand fan behaviour across different markets, thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and take pride in delivering world-class marketing support for a tournament of international scale

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a key marketing contact for the Rugby World Cup, supporting the delivery of campaign execution across all tournament fixtures and sales phases.

  • Manage end-to-end marketing activation for Rugby World Cup matches, aligning activity to Ticketmaster’s phased on-sale strategy and key tournament milestones to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

  • Plan, build and deploy campaigns across Ticketmaster’s owned channels (CRM, website, app, onsite placements), driving engagement and conversion across priority fan segments and markets.

  • Proactively monitor match-by-match sales performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and develop targeted marketing initiatives to support sales objectives and optimise underperforming fixtures.

  • Coordinate and execute organic and paid media activity in partnership with Digital and Performance teams, ensuring campaigns are optimised in line with best practice and tournament priorities.

  • Uphold brand integrity across all campaign touchpoints, ensuring marketing materials align with Rugby World Cup brand guidelines, Ticketmaster brand standards, and partner requirements.

  • Follow established briefing, approval and asset management processes when developing campaign creative, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across all channels.

  • Ensure timely and accurate asset briefing, build and deployment across all digital touchpoints, maintaining consistency, quality control and governance throughout the campaign lifecycle.

  • Prepare marketing plans and performance summaries, overseeing campaign setup, tracking, optimisation and post-campaign reporting, with clear insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Event Operations, Partnerships, PR and Analytics to align on campaign timelines, approvals, brand requirements and delivery milestones.

  • Support the management of marketing systems, campaign workflows and digital asset processes to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy at scale across the tournament schedule.

  • Contribute to the development of tactical campaigns around key moments including draw announcements, team qualifications, venue launches, finals and sell-out pushes.

  • Represent the marketing function in internal and external meetings when required, providing clear updates on campaign performance, sales pacing and optimisation strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign planning, reporting and execution processes to enhance agility and performance across the tournament lifecycle.

  • Adhere to company quality management, safety and environmental policies at all times.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  • Proficient in using customer engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Braze) to drive sales and personalise fan experiences.

  • Hands-on experience managing paid digital campaigns via platforms such as Meta Business Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, or other automation tools.

  • Skilled in using social and content platforms to inform and engage fans, while enhancing the brand perception of Rugby World Cup and Ticketmaster.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience working across datasets using tools like Google Analytics and DOMO.

  • Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities effectively.

YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS)

  • Strong written and verbal communicator, capable of building trust and collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to establish rapport at all levels of the organisation.

  • Highly organised with proven time management skills, able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and campaign consistency.

  • Solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges proactively.

  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to evolving priorities.

  • Positive, collaborative attitude and genuine passion for live entertainment.

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years’ experience in a marketing role with demonstrated capability in campaign execution, and client collaboration.

  • Must be available to work from the office at least three days per week.
