Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Middle School COED Swimming and Diving program. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes while promoting skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of swimming and diving techniques, along with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for middle school swimmers and divers, focusing on technique, endurance, and competitive readiness.
- Organize and lead daily practices, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the swimming and diving program, including scheduling meets, transportation, and communication with parents and athletes.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among student-athletes, encouraging personal growth and development.
- Monitor and assess the progress of each athlete, providing constructive feedback and individualized coaching as needed.
- Collaborate with school administration and athletic staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations and program policies.
- Organize and facilitate team-building activities and events to strengthen team cohesion and morale.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding athlete progress, team events, and any pertinent updates.
- Stay current with swimming and diving techniques, trends, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes, promoting healthy lifestyles and academic achievement.
Requirements
- Valid Wyoming PTSB coaching permit (or ability to obtain) and must pass a background check per district requirements.
- Previous coaching experience in swimming and diving at the middle school or high school level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of swimming and diving techniques, training methods, and competitive strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications are required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes, with a focus on their personal and athletic development.
