Tacten is hiring IRATA Journeyperson Pipefitters to support maintenance operations at the LNG Canada site in Kitimat, BC. Join our team and be part of a world-class project in a world-class setting!

 

Position Details:
Site/Location: LNG in Kitimat, BC

Start Date: Immediately

Shift/Hours: 40 hrs./week and possible overtime

Hourly Rate: $58.00/hr. depending on certifications

Relocation: Relocation is required for this position. We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.

Responsibilities

Piping Installation, Maintenance & Inspection

  • Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems including process, utility, and cryogenic lines in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Cut, thread, weld, and fit pipe using appropriate tools and techniques to meet quality and safety requirements.

  • Inspect piping systems for leaks, corrosion, and structural integrity, and perform repairs as required.

  • Read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.

Operations Support & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other trades, operations, and engineering teams to support plant operations, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Comply with all site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and LNG-specific hazardous area requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and inspection reports.

Requirements

Certifications & Safety Requirements

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter (JP) certification.

  • IRATA Rope Access certification (Level 1-3) or willingness to obtain.

  • Valid BC -required safety certifications, including CSTS, WHMIS, H2S Alive, and Confined Space Entry.

Technical Skills & Industry Experience

  • Industrial piping experience, preferably in LNG, petrochemical, or similar industrial facilities.

  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, fittings, valves, welding techniques, and pipe supports/hangers.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Familiarity with CSA, API, and ASME piping codes and standards.

  • Experience with cryogenic piping systems and LNG operations considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiency working in industrial and trades environments, including rigging activities.

Core Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and hands-on mechanical skills.

  • Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with composite crews.

  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance management systems and digital work order platforms is an asset.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
