Summary
Kemmerer Junior Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our high school boys swimming and diving program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching strategy that fosters athletic excellence, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes. This full-time position requires a commitment to the academic and athletic development of students, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance swimming and diving skills, physical fitness, and competitive performance.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Plan and manage the competitive schedule, including meets, tournaments, and other events.
- Provide individual and team coaching, focusing on skill development, technique improvement, and mental preparation.
- Monitor student-athlete academic performance and provide guidance to ensure eligibility and success in both athletics and academics.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among athletes.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
- Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote overall student engagement and school spirit.
- Maintain accurate records of athlete performance, attendance, and compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current on best practices in coaching and athlete development.
Requirements
- Coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.
- Valid Wyoming PTSB head coach permit.
- Strong knowledge of swimming and diving techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules, records, and team logistics.
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and basic life support preferred.
- Must pass a background check per district requirements.
