Job Summary
Assists with the manager with operations and staff of the Adventure Center and assigns responsibility for activities of the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Inform boaters about services and events, tying up boats, fueling boats, pumping water from boats, monitoring parking, keeping accurate fuel records and operating a radio.
- Always comply with resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Assist manager with planning and organizing staff assignments.
- Participates in training, motivating, and evaluating assigned staff; collaborates with manager on reviews and implements changes as needed and directed by manager
- Communicate with Sales & Front Desk staff for special requests and group business.
- Follows directives from manager on executing plans, policies, and procedures.
- Assist manager with operating within budget; understands cost control activities; participates in revenue evaluation and expense control; assists manager with budget planning; helps manage efficient use of budgeted funds, labor, retail goods, facilities, and time.
- Can issue written oral instructions that align with the manager’s direction
- Assist with purchasing retail shop items.
- Assist with maintaining daily, monthly and annual reports and records.
- Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out departmental business
- Promotes and encourages participation in the amenities available.
- Conducts routine staff meetings in absence of the manager
- Other duties may be assigned as business demands.
Qualifications Qualifications
- Five years progressive experience in resort or similar environment, Preferred
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Captain’s License, Certified Dive Instructor preferred
- A valid driver’s license
Additional Eligibility Requirements/Work Environment
- Position requires full flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays, to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
- Long hours are sometimes required.
- Candidates in this role will be able to read, write, speak and understand English and meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.
- Must possess good communication skills, oral and written
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
- Must be able to lift 75+ pounds and be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
- Must be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
