Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the Boys Wrestling program in the manner that upholds the values, philosophies, and objectives of the McDonald County R-1 School District Athletic Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Train athletes on a consistent basis for the ideal physical condition in their sport by using methods to help athletic skill and mental toughness.
- Teach individuals about everything related to the sport's rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding of their chosen game.
- Create specific physical performance conditioning programs to increase athletic performance, confidence and team success.
- Evaluate team and individual athletic performance consistently using video, photography, data sheets and other means and addressing skills deficits during practice.
- Work with the athletic director to ensure transportation and lodging are provided for travel when needed.
- Coordinate goals and strategies for improvement with assistant coaches and other staff members.
- Select and ensure top quality team equipment, supplies and facilities, such as uniforms, practice equipment, or conditioning materials.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to complete all MSHSAA coach requirements
- Ability to adhere to all district and athletic department policies
- Supervision of all student-athletes at practices and contests
- Strong leadership ability and positive attitude
- Perform other duties requested by building principal or athletic director
Preferred:
- Missouri teaching license
- Solid understanding of rules and regulations
- Demonstrated commitment to safety on and off the field
