    Summary

    Responsible for all aspects of the Boys Wrestling program in the manner that upholds the values, philosophies, and objectives of the McDonald County R-1 School District Athletic Department.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Train athletes on a consistent basis for the ideal physical condition in their sport by using methods to help athletic skill and mental toughness.
    • Teach individuals about everything related to the sport's rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding of their chosen game.
    • Create specific physical performance conditioning programs to increase athletic performance, confidence and team success.
    • Evaluate team and individual athletic performance consistently using video, photography, data sheets and other means and addressing skills deficits during practice.
    • Work with the athletic director to ensure transportation and lodging are provided for travel when needed.
    • Coordinate goals and strategies for improvement with assistant coaches and other staff members.
    • Select and ensure top quality team equipment, supplies and facilities, such as uniforms, practice equipment, or conditioning materials.

    Job Skills & Qualifications

    Required:

    • Ability to complete all MSHSAA coach requirements
    • Ability to adhere to all district and athletic department policies
    • Supervision of all student-athletes at practices and contests
    • Strong leadership ability and positive attitude
    • Perform other duties requested by building principal or athletic director

    Preferred:

    • Missouri teaching license
    • Solid understanding of rules and regulations
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety on and off the field
