General Statement of Responsibilities: To provide instruction for targeted kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students who have been identified as in need of strategic intervention in Reading and Mathematics.
Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher currently under contract with Liberty Elementary School District
- Preferred: Teachers that participated in mathematics professional development and experience with Reading Horizons K-5.
- Must attend training, planning sessions and set up classroom (May 28)
- Teaching experience K- 5
- Evidence of student learning results
Teacher Description:
- Plan and deliver instruction that supports student learning and summer program goals.
- Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Implement district-provided curriculum, lessons, and instructional resources.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and families as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate attendance and other required records.
- Collaborate with the Summer School Coordinator and support staff regarding student needs and program expectations.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to promote student success.
- Supervise students during assigned times and transitions.
- Communicate professionally with families and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Perform other duties related to the summer school program as assigned.
Compensation:
Teacher Hourly Rate: $35.30
Teacher Dates: May 28th - June 25th
Schedule: 16 days (80 hours total)
- May 28 Training 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

June 1 - June 25 Monday - Thursday
- Teacher Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Student Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
- Instructional time (64 hours)
- Supervision of breakfast, lunch, & bus duty - 1 hour per 16 days (16 hours total)
