Soitec, founded in 1992 as a spin-off of the French research organisation CEA, designs and manufactures engineered semiconductor substrates, including silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. The company is headquartered in France and listed on Euronext Paris. Its materials serve as the foundation for smart, energy-efficient electronics, enabling chip miniaturisation alongside improved performance and reduced energy consumption.
The product portfolio spans several specialised material platforms: RF-SOI for radio frequency applications, FD-SOI (fully depleted silicon-on-insulator), SmartSiC™ for power electronics, and Photonics-SOI. These substrates are used across mobile communications, automotive, industrial IoT and AI infrastructure.
