Shavent
Munich startup Shavent designs and makes the SHAVENT, a plastic-free metal razor with a swing head mechanism, plus shaving accessories, with manufacturing in Thuringia and sales across Europe.
Shavent is a Munich-based startup that develops and manufactures the SHAVENT 3-blade swing head razor, described as the world's first metal razor with a swing head mechanism. The razor's swing head adapts to the contours of the face and body; the body is zinc die-cast, fully chrome-plated and plastic-free, and is designed to last a lifetime. It is compatible with any standard double-edge blade, a feature the company terms "blade freedom". Shavent also sells shaving accessories including brushes, bowls, bags and spare parts.
Manufacturing is split between two German sites: zinc die-casting production in Thuringia, with final assembly, quality checking and packaging in Munich. The company's technical work spans mechanical engineering of the swing head mechanism, zinc die-casting, chrome plating, precision metal manufacturing, product design and wet shaving craftsmanship - a combination of traditional shaving craft and modern metalworking that would suit engineers working across hardware, tooling and product development.
Shavent was founded by a father-daughter duo, Romy Lindenberg and Armin Lutz Seidel, and operates as a small startup team. Its stated mission is to eliminate plastic waste from bathrooms; product values centre on durability, plastic-free design and cost-effective blade use. Products are sold through the company's own e-commerce platform at shavent.store, via Amazon, and through numerous Manufactum department stores across Europe.
