Makersite GmbH builds software that helps manufacturers design products that are cheaper, cleaner and compliant with regulation. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Stuttgart, the company employs more than 150 people across Europe, the USA and Asia. It was founded by Neil D'Souza and describes its mission as accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy.
Its core product is a cloud-based Product Lifecycle Intelligence platform. Using artificial intelligence and graph technology, it maps a company's product data, suppliers and manufacturing processes against more than 140 material and supply-chain databases, and constructs granular digital twins of each product across how it is made, used and disposed of. The resulting models support environmental footprint analysis (LCA), should-costing and compliance risk analysis. The company states that this allows compliant, safer, cost-effective and environmentally friendly products to be developed up to 40 times faster than traditional methods.
