Manitoulin Group of Companies

Canadian-owned freight transportation and logistics company operating a North American network of more than 85 terminals and access to over 300 U.S. service centres.

Manitoulin Group of Companies is a Canadian-owned, privately held freight transportation and logistics provider. Its operating arm, Manitoulin Transport, began in 1960 as Hills Transport, a trucking operation in Gore Bay, Ontario, and today runs what it describes as North America's most extensive transportation network: more than 85 terminals across Canada and access to over 300 service centres in the United States. The company has more than 65 years of industry experience and serves businesses throughout North America.

The group's work spans two areas. The first is freight transportation and goods delivery, providing reliable carriage for business customers across Canada and the United States. The second is technology: advanced logistics and shipment tracking systems, developed as part of a stated focus on innovation and operational efficiency. Technical work touches logistics technology, shipment tracking systems and the day-to-day operation of a large freight network.

Manitoulin remains a 100% Canadian-owned family business with no external funding disclosed. It has expanded through strategic acquisitions while holding to its founding principles. The company describes a commitment to customer satisfaction, the safe delivery of goods, sustainable practices and community philanthropy.
