Hex is an AI Analytics Platform that unifies AI-powered analysis, conversational self-serve and data apps in one workspace for data science and analytics teams.
Hex builds an AI Analytics Platform that brings AI-powered analysis, conversational self-serve and data apps into a single workspace for data science and analytics teams. The product combines data science notebooks with SQL, Python, R and no-code tooling, alongside integrated AI assistance and collaboration features. It is used by more than 1,500 teams worldwide, ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Alongside the core platform, Hex offers Data Apps, which let teams publish the results of analysis for self-serve exploration through a UI or AI, and Semantic Models, which capture analysis outputs as reusable, trusted context. AI Assist and AI agents are positioned as partners for exploratory analysis and natural-language data exploration, with or without code. The technical work spans large language models, natural-language querying, SQL analytics, Python and R data science, and collaboration tooling.
The company describes an AI-first approach to redefining analytics workflows and a tooling philosophy intended to serve everyone from data scientists to business users. Its founding team had worked together previously and set out to build the data tool they wished existed. Hex operates on a worldwide basis across data science and analytics, software, startups and enterprise.
