Cash Access UK

Cash Access UK is a not-for-profit funded by major UK banks, running shared banking hubs and deposit services to keep cash and banking accessible nationwide.

Cash Access UK is a not-for-profit company established in 2022 to maintain access to cash and banking services for communities across the United Kingdom. It is funded by the country's major high street banks - AIB NI, Bank of Ireland UK, Barclays, Danske Bank, HSBC UK, Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest Group, Santander, TSB and Virgin Money - and is overseen by an independent board. The organisation is headquartered in London and operates nationwide.

Its principal services are shared banking hubs, of which more than 250 are now in operation on UK high streets. Counter services in the hubs are run by the Post Office, allowing customers of all major banks and building societies to carry out regular cash transactions Monday to Friday. Within the hubs, a community banker service lets customers speak to their own bank about more complex matters, with bankers from different institutions rotating on different days. Cash Access UK also manages more than 140 standalone deposit services across the country.

The organisation works with LINK, the Post Office, member banks and suppliers on cash machine network integration and community banking services. It is testing new services with suppliers to address a wider range of community needs over time. Between 5m and 6m adults in the UK rely on cash day to day, and the services supported by Cash Access UK reach nearly one million customers each month.
