The platform refreshes data every 15 minutes, against an industry norm of roughly 24 hours.

The engineering work spans data transformation, integration and interoperability, machine learning and cloud-native platform development. The company reports managing data for more than 55 million members across the United States, delivering over 25 use cases and realising more than $10m in medical loss ratio savings. It has raised $100m in funding and partners with AWS, Snowflake and Databricks.

Abacus Insights was founded by Dr. Minal Patel, a physician-executive with experience in payer organisations.
