Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Welder- Technician IV-2nd Shift. 

The rate for this position is $22.83 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm until 1:00 am.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Welder Technician will set up and perform metal joining and cutting operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals, including steel, aluminum, and cast metals, with or without fixtures, using a variety of welding equipment.

 

  • Promote a safe, engaged, and inclusive work environment by adhering to all safety policies, proper use of personal protective equipment, correct operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties
  • Maintain expected job progress within the assigned area and communicate issues or concerns appropriately
  • Work from manufacturing information, sketches, drawings, verbal or written instructions, or prototypes
  • Weld parts using proper machine settings, rod or wire, and gas selections, and fabricate fixtures to support the welding process
  • Manually position components in correct welding sequence for complex, non‑repetitive structural assemblies, with or without fixtures
  • Ensure quality by measuring finished parts using tape measures and/or calipers, performing visual inspections, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors
  • Follow detailed instructions to ensure precision and maintain structural integrity of welds
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot welding equipment issues, and demonstrate strong attention to detail throughout the welding process

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Welding certification in basic welding (e.g., Piedmont Technical College Basic Welding Certificate)

  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-duty military service members are exempt from the geographic limitation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous sheet metal fabrication experience, including use of standard punch and bend tooling and processes
  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, drawings, and/or operating instructions
  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers
  • Experience with ERP systems, including DMM and AS‑400
  • MIG welding certification (e.g., Piedmont Technical College Basic Welding Certificate)

 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push or pull 50 lbs. or more, with or without accommodation
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination

 

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
