Varsity Head Wrestling Coach

Grandview Heights Schools is seeking a Varsity Head Wrestling Coach for the 26-27 school year!

Title:                Varsity Head Wrestling Coach

Position Type:  Supplemental

Reports to:      Athletic Director

Qualifications:

• Experience in the designated sport
• Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification
• Prior coaching experience in High School or College required
• School Van certification preferred

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and instruct the wrestling team consisting of approximately 10-20 student-athletes as head coach for the varsity team.
• Conduct regular practices for team in conjunction with the JV and Middle School Coaches
• Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
• Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Work with the assistant coaches to develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
• Coaching will require six days per week including practices and games. 15-20 hours per week is a typical time commitment for the coach.
• Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
• Design and implement off season training and summer activities
• Support the youth wrestling program in Grandview Heights.
• Responsible for distribution and collection of uniforms.
• May perform other duties as directed by the Athletic Director.

Working Conditions

• Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue
• Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather
• Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and read
• Regular requirement to lift equipment, up to 50 pounds
