Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach

Immanuel Christian School is seeking a Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach for the 2026–2027 season. We are looking for a qualified coach with strong basketball knowledge who is passionate about building and developing a competitive program while investing in the lives of student-athletes.

The head coach will serve as the leader of the boys basketball program and will be responsible for establishing a culture that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, growth, and excellence. The ideal candidate will be committed not only to success on the court but also to mentoring young men and helping them grow in character and faith.

In addition to leading the varsity team during the season, the head coach will demonstrate a commitment to program development beyond the winter months. This includes helping create continuity between the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity levels while investing in the long-term development of players within the program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the varsity boys basketball program
   
• Develop and implement a clear program philosophy that supports long-term player and team development
   
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability
   
• Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and other coaches within the program
   
• Support and encourage student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and spiritual development
   
• Provide leadership for offseason development opportunities such as open gyms, workouts, camps, or clinics
   
• Help build alignment and continuity across the middle school, JV, and varsity levels of the program

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior basketball coaching experience required; varsity-level coaching experience preferred
   
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, player development, and team systems
   
• Ability to lead, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with high school student-athletes
   
• Strong organizational and communication skills
   
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Immanuel Christian School
   
• Willingness to invest in the growth and development of the program beyond the competitive season
