Genesis Minerals is growing, and we’re looking for a driven Underground Mining Engineer to join our high-performing team at our Ulysses mine, part of the Leonora Operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in optimising underground mining activities, supporting production delivery, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will contribute across all technical aspects of underground mining including drill & blast, backfill, ventilation and production scheduling. Working closely with operations, geology and contractors, you’ll help drive safe, efficient and reliable outcomes underground.
Key Responsibilities
Uphold strong health, safety and environmental standards across all activities
Design and optimise drill & blast activities for development and production
Maintain and support ventilation systems and modelling to ensure compliance
Contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly production schedules
Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and manage risks
Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to support operational success

We’re excited to hear from you if you have:
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
Demonstrated underground mining experience, ideally in gold
Strong understanding of statutory safety requirements
Experience in drill & blast, backfill, ventilation and scheduling
Proficiency in Excel; exposure to Deswik, Surpac or similar is advantageous
A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
