Job Statement

Genesis Minerals is growing, and we’re looking for a driven Underground Mining Engineer to join our high-performing team at our Ulysses mine, part of the Leonora Operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in optimising underground mining activities, supporting production delivery, and maintaining a strong safety culture.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will contribute across all technical aspects of underground mining including drill & blast, backfill, ventilation and production scheduling. Working closely with operations, geology and contractors, you’ll help drive safe, efficient and reliable outcomes underground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold strong health, safety and environmental standards across all activities

  • Design and optimise drill & blast activities for development and production

  • Maintain and support ventilation systems and modelling to ensure compliance

  • Contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly production schedules

  • Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and manage risks

  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to support operational success

We’re excited to hear from you if you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)

  • Demonstrated underground mining experience, ideally in gold

  • Strong understanding of statutory safety requirements

  • Experience in drill & blast, backfill, ventilation and scheduling

  • Proficiency in Excel; exposure to Deswik, Surpac or similar is advantageous

  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
