The City of Lancaster is looking for energetic, dependable, and service-minded individuals to join our team as Summer Lifeguards. In this role, you will help maintain a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment by enforcing pool rules, identifying hazards, responding to emergencies, administering first aid and CPR when needed, and supporting daily pool operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations in a consistent manner

  • Identify potential accident hazards and unsafe conditions

  • Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively in emergencies

  • Perform rescues and provide first aid and CPR as required

  • Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck and locker rooms

  • Monitor and record chemical levels

  • Complete required reports and documentation

  • Attend and participate in all in-service trainings

  • Assist with recreation programs and special events hosted by the City

  • Provide excellent customer service with a positive and professional attitude

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Verifiable experience in extracurricular activities at school and/or community setting. Prior work experience is not a requirement.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification within 3 months of employment
