Internship Summary
This is an unpaid internship designed to provide a hands-on, educational experience for students interested in collegiate athletics. Interns will gain meaningful exposure to the operations of a Division I athletic department supporting 30 varsity programs at the United States Military Academy, the greatest leadership institution in the world.
Through training, mentorship, and guided participation, interns will work alongside full-time professionals and explore how a high-performing athletics department operates. The internship emphasizes learning, professional development, and career exploration, offering students a behind-the-scenes look at college athletics while building transferable skills for the future.
Interns in Strength & Conditioning will gain exposure to Division I athletics and military/tactical training, continuing professional education (including a full educational curriculum), the opportunity to further develop as coaches in a practical setting, and on-going support from our network of intern graduates and staff members. This internship will also fulfil hours required for the CsCCa-SCCC exam under the mentorship of Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Performance, Scott Swanson.

USMA is renowned as the world’s preeminent leadership development institution. Located on the banks of the Hudson River in West Point, NY, it is approximately one hour from New York City.
