Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Keeps all equipment, surfaces, and structures in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance and repair of the resort under the direction of Engineering Management.
• Checks for new maintenance requests regularly and updates remarks in the property management system promptly.
• Executes preventative maintenance schedules on a regular basis as assigned.
• Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and building problems throughout the resort.
• Demonstrates basic understanding of all items in guest rooms (including guestroom door locks and safes), public areas, treatment plant, boiler room, and all other mechanical areas, etc.
• Performs basic duties, such as painting and carpentry, and understands the basic functions and skills required. Using power tools, when necessary, to perform duties from time to time.
• Ensures all equipment is properly functioning within the resort and that all malfunctions are reported to the supervisor in a short period of time
• Trains and instructs other team members by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and personal advancement.
• Ensures the working area is always kept clean.
• Reports for duty punctually, wearing the correct, clean, and neat uniform and name badge always, and swipes in at the start of the shift and swipes out at the end of the shift.
• Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the policies within the employee’s handbook.
• Provides personally owned hand tools in accordance with the Department’s required tool list, which is to be carried during your shift at all times. A tool bag or caddy will be provided.
• Displays the highest standards of customer service at all times, welcoming customers in a polite, gracious, and enthusiastic manner; paying attention at all times; anticipating and meeting their needs.
• Responds quickly and positively to guests’ questions, requests, problems, and complaints and resolves them effectively and consistently.
• Maintains overall knowledge of the resort and provides proactive assistance to customers when appropriate, using clear and concise conversation.
• Always smiles and engages our guests first, using their name when appropriate and maintaining eye contact at all times.
• Demonstrates departmental knowledge and efficiency at all times.
• Wear company-issued Personal Protective Equipment such as masks or gloves from time to time as directed by the Company.
• The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you may be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
• Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
• Minimum 1-year formal training in Electrical systems; two years of formal work experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and fellow workers.
• Able to lift 50lbs and work overhead on a ladder or lift with tools.
