Your Opportunity
We are thrilled to be recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Infrastructure Planning & Delivery (IP&D) group.
This role sits in our The Engineering and Professional Services (EPS) team, which is a multi-disciplinary team providing engineering and professional services that contributes to an integrated capital delivery solutions portfolio in excess of $1.5 billion over five years, as well as providing support to other parts of the business
Reporting to the Manager Integrated Professional Services, the Senior Engineer Electrical is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise to teams within IP&D and wider parts of the business. The role is responsible for the provision of technical assurance services for electrical engineering design work undertaken by Urban Utilities’ partners. You will use your experience to guide and assure simple and complex electrical design work, including the practical application of Urban Utilities technical specifications and processes, to enable design integrity of the final asset.
The role will act as the EPS technical assurance representative for projects with largely electrical scopes. This may involve coordination of review commentary by other engineering disciplines. Conversely, this role will support other EPS technical assurance representatives, where electrical reviews are required on interdisciplinary scopes.
You will use your experience to guide innovative, sustainable and efficient Engineering solutions for our communities. The role involves understanding the changing environment in which UU operates and providing engineering expertise which enables the organisation to continue to manage this change.
You will work cross functionally with:
Project Managers within IP&D to technically translate and inform upcoming project decisions.
Principal Engineer Electrical and Principal Engineer Instrumentation and Controls, who provide final determination on acceptance of deviations from Urban Utilities technical specifications.
Commissioning managers, for operational readiness and final handover checks.
About You
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Prior electrical engineering experience in a brownfield and operational environment in a related industrial sector which could include utilities, petrochemical, energy, mining, or others
We see electrical engineering as electrical power installations (HV, LV), instrumentation and control installations, and affiliated Operational Technology (such as PLC, SCADA, RTU).
You are a critical thinker who naturally builds strong relationships with stakeholders. You excel at collaboration, aligning objectives, and achieving desired outcomes.
You take an objective and considered view when solving problems and making recommendations, ensuring safety, risk, innovation, sustainability, and our customers, are at front of mind.
Tertiary education in Engineering plus hold RPEQ status (or eligible to obtain).
