The role of the Sr Analytics Engineer is to build the data transformation architecture that enables reliable analytics and positions us for what’s next. This person brings deep technical expertise in data transformation and modeling with a collaborative leadership style. This role is about building the data architecture we truly need, focused on outcomes, not trends. You’ll lead the design of a unified, cloud-based data environment centered on dbt and modern analytics engineering practices, enabling reliable transformation logic and data modeling that supports analytics, governance, and operational decision-making across the organization. Your work will shape how data is modeled, tested, and shared to enable a modern and scalable data ecosystem.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Location: Remote, applicants must reside in PA to be considered for this role

In this position, you will

POSITION SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Own the design and roadmap of our data transformation layer and modeling standards, building a modern, analytics-ready data warehouse that elevates our analyst’s work and positions us for what’s next.
  • Lead the implementation of DBT as the core transformation layer in our modern data stack and the broader modern data stack, embedding strong modeling and documentation practices across teams
  • Partner with analytics engineers, analysts, and business leaders to translate requirements into reliable, well-structured data solutions models and transformation pipeline. 
  • Define and uphold architectural standards, governance frameworks, and documentation practices that promote trust in data. discoverability, and collaboration across the analytics organization
  • Guide the modernization of our Microsoft-based data environment (including Fabric, SQL Server, Synapse, and Power BI), integrating modern technologies where they clearly add value.
  • Provide architectural direction and mentorship, fostering clarity, collaboration, and professional growth across the team, helping analytics engineers and analysts level up their modeling and transformation skills.

Qualifications:

Bachelors: Computer Science (Required), Bachelors: Engineering (Required), Bachelors: Information Systems (Required)

8+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or closely related work | Required Ability to guide and mentor analytics engineers and analysts | Required Ability to translate business needs into clear architectural patterns | Required Deep hands-on expertise with dbt and modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar) | Required Experience in financial services, preferably credit unions, and an understanding of the regulatory and operational context in which they operate | Required Experience leading or contributing to data and cloud migration projects | Required Exposure to Azure or hybrid cloud data environments | Required Familiarity with metadata management tools and data catalogs | Required Highly proficient in building, testing, and maintain transformation logic in dbt | Required Proven experience designing data models and transformation pipelines in regulated environments | Required Strong communication and collaboration skills with comfort working with senior leaders | Required Strong grounding in data governance, lineage, and quality practices | Required
