Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator – Dance and Gymnastics, the Recreation Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and day-to-day operations of dynamic dance and gymnastics programs while helping deliver safe, positive, and engaging experiences for participants and families. This role plays an important part in preparing for special events, performances, and competitions, while providing exceptional customer service and fostering an environment that reflects the City’s values. Whether supporting gymnastics meets at Bison Ridge Recreation Center or assisting with dance programs and recitals at Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, this position helps bring energy, organization, and enthusiasm to every program experience.
This is not your typical 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. role, as schedules may vary between 1:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with the flexibility to work out of either recreation center based on program needs.Be A Part Of It and contribute to the vibrant growth and development of Commerce City as we strive to provide exceptional services and foster a thriving community.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. One year work experience in competitive gymnastics team instruction, or one year of experience working in a dance setting to include instruction in multiple dance styles. Must have experience in telephone courtesy, customer service, computer experience and skills in Windows and MS Office software applications. CPR and First Aid Certification required within three months of hire. Valid Colorado driver’s license and good driving record, with the ability to operate various automobiles and vans.
