Your new role

We are looking for an experienced Driver / Fitter to join the Southend Equipment & Adaptation Service team on a full time and temporary basis (6 months). As a Driver / Fitter, you will effectively contribute to achieving the overall aims & objectives of the service, namely the prompt and efficient delivery, monitoring, servicing and collection of items of equipment and minor adaptations. To accurately account for stock received, issued, stored, returned & condemned.

 

To clean, inspect, service/maintain, re-package, label and safely store previously issued items maximising recycling the efficiencies achieved by the service. To ensure the correct administrative & legislative policies, procedures and systems are fully met within the requirements of the Adult Social Care Department, Southend on Sea City Council. Health Authority and other local or national government bodies.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work on your own initiatives and prioritise own workload. Good understanding of basic health & safety principles including safe manual handling, COSHH awareness, storage safety issues, security & fire awareness is essential for this role. Please note this a physically demanding role as there will be a lot of lifting involved. You will undergo the Borough Fleet Vehicle Driving Test

 

Your application will not be considered if you do not have a full driving Licence.

 

GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent or other evidence of educational attainment appropriate to the grading of the post is essential for this post.
