About the role
We’re currently seeking a Project / Site Engineer to support delivery across a major energy infrastructure project, supporting our Tier 1 client, Santos in the Cooper Basin. This is a project-based contract role (April–October) with strong potential to transition into a permanent position, offering exposure to large-scale, complex infrastructure projects within the energy sector.
Based in Brisbane with regular site engagement, this role will see you working closely with Project Managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
This is a great opportunity for an early to mid-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience across project delivery within the energy and infrastructure sector.
With purpose, respect and a driven mindset, you’ll contribute by:
- Provide day-to-day engineering support across project delivery and site activities
- Coordinate subcontractors and assist with scheduling and work planning
- Prepare and manage key project documentation (RFIs, TQs, registers, reports)
- Support procurement activities, including materials and subcontractor engagement
- Assist with cost tracking, variations, and project reporting
- Conduct site inspections and ensure works are delivered to specification and safety standards
- Contribute to project planning, mobilisation, and execution activities.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 2–5 years’ experience within a construction, civil, or oil & gas environment
- Proven experience working within Major Hazard Facilities (e.g. gas plants) is highly desirable
- Exposure to pipelines, SMP, or infrastructure projects highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across site and office teams
- Solid organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with project documentation and systems (e.g. RFIs, TQs, registers, schedules)
- Experience developing construction work packs
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with CAD software (12D, Navisworks, AutoCAD or similar desirable).
