About the Role
DNM Plumbing & Heating is seeking a skilled Plumbing Journeyperson to join our team. This role focuses on residential and commercial plumbing projects, including installation, service, and troubleshooting.
The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality workmanship, while mentoring apprentices and ensuring all work meets applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Commissioning
- Install and commission plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and venting
- Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets, bathtubs, water heaters, and sump pumps
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Test systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation
Maintenance and Repair
- Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and pressure issues
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and system upgrades
- Troubleshoot pumps and related mechanical components
- Respond to service calls, including after-hours as required
Compliance and Technical Standards
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Building Code and applicable CSA and TSSA standards
- Follow company quality and safety procedures
Leadership and Mentorship
- Support and mentor apprentices on job sites
- Provide guidance to support skill development and trade progression
Customer Service and Coordination
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, clients, and contractors
- Coordinate with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification (306A Plumber)
- Minimum 5 years of experience, including apprenticeship and licensed work
- Strong experience in residential and commercial plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Experience with copper, PEX, PVC, and cast iron piping systems
- Valid Ontario G-Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications
- Clean criminal record check
