Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital

We are seeking a Grade 1 Physiotherapist to join our Berwick team in a dynamic rotational position. The role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and operates on a 7‑day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

This role offers a diverse caseload and the opportunity to develop strong clinical skills across a range of acute and rehabilitation settings.

As part of this rotation, you will gain experience across:

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation

  • Outpatient Rehabilitation

  • Orthopaedic and Surgical Wards

  • Medical Wards

  • ICU and CCU

  • Acute inpatient services

You will be supported through:

This position is ideal for physiotherapists looking to build a strong clinical foundation in a supportive and well‑structured rotational model.

The Position

  • Provide high quality evidence based physiotherapy assessments and treatments for all patients/clients, including the provision of hydrotherapy treatments where applicable.

  • Using patient-centered care work with the patient to develop appropriate physiotherapy treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients.

  • Ensure that direct working relationships are established and maintained with multi-disciplinary colleagues and internal/external customers including active participation in the multidisciplinary team meetings

  • Use of Evidence Based Patient treatment outcome measures and use of Patient feedback satisfaction measures and quality assurance activities

  • Participate in the physiotherapy department weekend roster if required.

  • Assist with education and training programs for students as requested

  • Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.

  • Attend staff meetings and present at professional development sessions as required.

You will hold a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist and demonstrate ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team.

To succeed in this multi disciplinary team, you will have recent experience in Physiotherapy services in relevant clinical settings including the provision of hydrotherapy treatments.

  • Salary: $70,866 to $97,980 per annum (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation (Grade 1)
