What the role is all about:

WinSport is seeking energetic and passionate individuals for the position of Mountain Bike Summer Camp Instructors. If you have a genuine interest in coaching youth, developing riders, and mountain biking at large, we invite you to apply.

 

As a Mountain Bike Summer Camp Instructor, your primary role is to provide safe, engaging, and effective lessons for participants of all ages and abilities. You will coach safe progression through various techniques and over an extensive network of trails focusing on all aspects of mountain biking to develop strong riding fundamentals. Above all else participants should have fun spending time outdoors and moving!

What you will be doing: 

Program Execution

  • Adhere to program policies and procedures, manage situations accordingly and escalate through the correct channels if required.
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and exceptional experience of participants.
  • Plan, lead, and modify mountain bike programs daily, operating independently as a group leader and collaboratively with others.
  • Setup and teardown programs/equipment on an hourly and daily basis.
  • Supervision and instruction of up to 12 participants.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain accurate records, including recording each child’s attendance, participant information, and secure pick-up code for safety.

Leading Children and Youth

  • Be a role model for participants and fellow team members of various ages.
  • Be attentive towards all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment reporting them as necessary. 
  • Lead riders through skill development in a safe and welcoming environment.

Communication

  • Communicate in ways that empower campers and team members when providing feedback.
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians.
  • Vary communications styles to best fit the audience.
  • Other duties as required

 

What you bring:                                                

  • Must be available for mandatory staff training from June 22 to 26, 2026.
  • Must be available for mandatory coach training from June 2 to 4, 2026.
  • Must be available Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, from June 29 to August 28, 2026, for at least 7 of the 9 weeks of summer camps.
  • Must be available specifically for Weeks 2 and 3 of summer camps, July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17, 2026.
  • Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
  • Current Standard (Intermediate) First Aid and CPR level C certification 
  • Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association (PMBIA) coaching qualification or equivalents are highly recommended and considered an asset.
  • Experience working within the Mountain Bike sporting industry is an asset.
  • Experience coaching or instructing is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with children and youth in camp or day program environment is an asset.

 

Work Conditions:

  • 40-44 Hours per week.
  • Paid lunch break as you maintain supervision of participants over the lunch period.
  • Ability to run, walk, ride, and jump for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Full-time, in-person availability is required.
  • Maintain a high level of positive energy throughout the day.
  • The job is frequently expected to lift, carry, throw, push, or pull objects (sporting equipment).
