The Lead Coach is responsible for the development of the mountain bike program, staying up to date with industry standards and trends, as a coach and rider, from the recreational level to the expert competitor. This position trains coaches to ensure up to date progressions are delivered, centered around camper safety, and includes trail etiquette and rider responsibility. The Lead Coach implements appropriate games, challenges, and activities throughout the week that drive campers’ skill development through goal setting with measurable outcomes.
This position requires oversight and management of all equipment, features, parks, and cleanliness in the Woodward Bunker facility and outdoor/on hill zones.

Provide high-quality instruction for safe skill progression and a fun learning environment
Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience
Make sure the basic needs of your campers are met, both physiological and emotional
Be present and assist with camper check-in and check-out procedures, communicate with parents daily
Be aware of injuries, special needs, allergies, and/or mediations and communicate with medical staff and parents
Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same
Always uphold the highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior: arrive on time, maintain a positive and friendly attitude, behave in a manner appropriate to our youngest campers (4 years old)
General cleaning and maintenance of facilities, including the Bunker, Cafeteria, Meeting Areas, and campus, and other duties as assigned
Intermediate or stronger skills in downhill Mountain Bike
Basic Bike Maintenance Skills
Experience working with children
Strong, diverse communication and effective group management skills
