Uxbridge High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable and student-centered Intermediate (Grades 6-7) Baseball Coach to lead and develop our middle school program.
The Coach will work closely with the Director of Athletics to foster athletic skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character in alignment with school and district values.
This positions works under the general supervision of the Whitin Intermediate School Principal and Uxbridge Public Schools Athletic Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct organized, structured practices focused on fundamentals, skill development, and team strategy.
Teach proper baseball techniques, conditioning, and injury prevention.
Organize lineups, manage substitutions, and implement in-game strategy.
Understanding of MIAA pitch count rules
Ensure proper supervision of student-athletes during games and travel.
Foster teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among athletes
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaching staff, and administration
Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic association policies
Qualifications:
Previous baseball coaching or playing experience (youth level preferred).
Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and strategy.
Ability to mentor and motivate middle school student-athletes.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season start).
Successful completion of background check as required by district (Fingerprinting, CORI/SORI)
