About this opportunity

The primary purpose of the Electrician is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required

Available shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintenance and Repair -Ā Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying, and optical sorting systems; maintain key site services (compressors, chillers, boilers); drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes; and work closely with production to minimise downtime and support safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • InstallationĀ -Ā Install new electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety standards while collaborating with OEM manufacturers to support effective installation and commissioning.
  • TroubleshootingĀ -Ā Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimise downtime, including fault finding on PLC, SCADA, and IO systems, while completing Root Cause Analysis on critical failures and implementing sustained corrective actions.
  • Safety ComplianceĀ -Ā Ensure all equipment meets Australian Safety Standards and Safety Control Logic while strictly following safety protocols, including conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
  • DocumentationĀ -Ā Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • A keen eye for detail
  • Strong ability to question the status quo and challenge the business positively
  • Advanced SAP and Excel experience
  • An ability to understand and analyse data to develop trends and set direction for the business
  • A formal qualification in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing related discipline
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills
  • A Production Planning background, ideally gained within a FMCG or Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role with strong exposure to modern manufacturing automation
  • Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment
  • Proficient with PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens safety control logic, and Australian Safety Standards
  • Knowledgeable in safety systems (Omron, Pilz) and able to read ELDs and P&IDs
  • Capable of effective emergency problem‑solving and maintenance response
  • Experienced in managing electrical spare‑parts stock
  • Positive, proactive, and collaborative team player
