Lifeguard

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintaining constant vigilance over swimmers in swimming areas while on duty and identify any safety issues; no socializing while on duty.
• Rescuing swimmers and administer first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Informing swimmers of pool hazards and regulations governing the swimming area in a professional manner.
• Maintaining all lifesaving equipment to ensure its readiness for operation.
• Performing maintenance duties as directed by superior (e.g., clean bathrooms, pick up litter, empty trashcans, etc.)
• Providing a welcoming environment for all patrons.
• Reporting major infractions of rules to pool manager. Documenting any incidents and/or injuries.
• Complete other assignments as required.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum age: 15 – must have a worker permit (obtained at your High School).
• Possession of a valid lifeguard certification card from the American Red Cross.
• Valid American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
• Skilled in the following: Communication Time Management Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Understanding and appreciation for human differences Conflict Management Customer Service
