We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician (Photon Operator) to join our laboratory team in Perth. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient analysis of geochemical samples using Photon Assay technology, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Conduct Photon Assay analysis of geochemical samples in accordance with established procedures.
Troubleshoot analytical issues and escalate to the instrument maintenance team when required.
Batch laboratory samples in G6 and ensure all associated documentation is processed correctly.
Coordinate with Sample Preparation and GBS teams to meet turnaround times and job priorities.
Maintain required production outputs, ensuring both quality and quantity targets are achieved.
Record and monitor daily production metrics.
Provide clear and detailed handover notes between shifts.
Assist with routine tasks in Sample Preparation, including sorting, crushing, and pulverising when required.
to be successful you have:
Certificate IV in Laboratory Skills (preferred)
Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
Strong organisational and time management skills
Experience working within quality systems
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
A proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement
