Laboratory Technician - Colour

A rare and exciting opportunity to join the Haymes Paint Lab Team has become available! Due to our growing demand we have a newly created position to expand our Colour expertise with a community & family focused business!

You'll prepare and dispatch colour samples that help Haymes Paint customers bring their projects to life, while supporting technical colour work across the business. You'll assist with colour sample production and hands-on lab tasks that keep our colour projects moving. Work closely with the R&D team, in a positive, fun and supportive environment, where safety, quality and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispatch colour samples and pots for customers
• Support colour matching, testing and evaluation tasks
• Measure and tint paint to the required formulation and create draw down cards
• Record, analyse and interpret experimental data
• Maintain lab equipment and follow safe work practices
• Liaise with internal teams to share progress and resolve issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement and general lab housekeeping

About you:

• Experience in lab, coatings or chemical environments are preferred but not essential
• Excellent teamwork skills and communicating with others
• Have extraordinary attention to detail to pick up on colour variances
• Ability to use a spectrophotometer and other lab tools (training will be provided)
• Quality skills, high attention to detail and confidence working with colour
• Able to manage tasks, prioritise and meet deadlines and targets
