This is a full time position with GNS Electric Inc.
The Journeyman Electrician E-6 participates in the construction, installation, alterations, additions, modifications, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, conductors, facilities, and equipment within the electrical construction industry.
The Journeyman Electrician E-6 must be able to perform all electrical tasks with general supervision. This role may be part of a crew or act as the lead person directing a crew and should have the ability to direct less experienced apprentices and helpers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervising and working with a crew
- Capable of installation of all types of electrical work
- Capable of troubleshooting motors, controls, circuits, and equipment
- Efficient in the areas of layout and blueprints
- Possesses the knowledge to rig and set up for all locations
- Possesses basic theory knowledge
- Responsible for positively identifying wire colors
- Responsible for reading, comprehending, and drawing prints and schematics
- Responsible for bending conduit using hand benders
- Responsible for using power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches
- Capable of digging trenches using hand tools or power equipment
- Operates trenchers, backhoes, and lift trucks safely
- Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in the GNS Electric, Inc. Safety Manual, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy
- Operates two-handed tools and equipment including cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers
- Operates company vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
- Possesses the ability to read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, worksite directions, blueprints, and written instructions
- Able to operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered)
- Intimately familiar with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Policy and agrees to work only on de-energized, locked-out circuits
- Possesses the skills of all lower E-rating job descriptions

- Ability to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, including overtime and night shifts as required
