Coaching stipends in Salt Lake City School District are referred to as coaching days and are determined by the District Written Agreement. This structure is consistent across SLCSD high schools participating in UHSAA.
Current teachers: Compensation is calculated using the teacher’s daily rate of pay multiplied by the number of assigned coaching days.
Non-teachers and first-time coaches: Compensation is calculated using the District coaching daily rate multiplied by the number of assigned coaching days.
For example, a newly hired tennis head coach would receive compensation equal to the District coaching daily rate multiplied by the assigned coaching days for that position group. The number of coaching days assigned to each sport is established by the Written Agreement.
Coaching days (stipends) are paid after the completion of the season and only after all required trainings and employment requirements have been successfully completed. Please reach out to the Athletic Director for more information about the coaching stipend.
