About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Grade 3 physiotherapist to join the Health Independence Programs team, working within Polio Services Victoria. The physiotherapist will deliver high quality physiotherapy assessment, service planning and direct clinical service provision for clients with a history of polio. In addition, to provide clinical and service leadership to the PSV service, including providing clinical direction, leading service improvement changes and ensuring supervision of physiotherapy staff within PSV. Delivery of education to clients and health professionals is also a requirement of the role.
Essential to work Wednesdays & Thursdays
Provide safe and effective physiotherapy assessment, intervention, referral and service planning
Provide clinical leadership
Work collaboratively with the Polio Services team to provide ongoing education and advice to clients and health professionals regarding the physiotherapy management of people with a history of contracting polio
Lead service improvement initiatives relevant to PSV and/or the HIP physiotherapy service
Provide guidance, support and supervision of physiotherapy staff within the HIP PSV service
Involvement with and / or encouragement of research relevant to polio
Classifications for this position will range from classification range Physiotherapist Grade 3 VB7 - VC1 ($104,135 - $118,981 per annum pro rata for part time).
Your Contribution
Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or other relevant degree
Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a physiotherapist
Minimum of seven (7) years’ post-graduate experience in a relevant field of rehabilitation and /or community based service and /or field of disability
Post-graduate experience in a relevant field of disability and or rehabilitation and or community based service
Research experience desirable
Current Victorian Drivers Licence
A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

The Health Independence Programs (HIP) consists of multidisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation programs, complex care services and specialist clinics operating across various campuses of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Polio Services Victoria is part of the Disability Stream, based at St Vincent’s Fitzroy. The service offers a supportive and dynamic team environment which focuses on patient-centred care.
