Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Tackling fire incidents with the assistance of firefighter whit appropriate media in shortest possible time.
- Conduct / assist in conducting fire safety training to hospital staff.
- Conduct safety rounds in construction area.
- Respond to all fire & smoke incidents calls received on 1600, fire panel or verbally.
- Use pertinent media on fire for effective extinguishment.
- Assist ERT in evacuation.
- Log each and every movement of firefighter, each and every receipt and issuance of fire extinguishers, equipment and tools and occurrences in fire occurrence book.
- Carry out monthly inspection according to Inspection Schedule of Fire Fighting Equipment, fire panels, exits etc.
- Assist in conducting fire safety training, fire drills, fire practices and demonstrations.
- Performs stand-by duty on demand through HOT WORK PERMITS.
- Conduct safety rounds and report unsafe practices.
- Supervisor/Coordinator/Assist Manager for training and inspection of fire fighting equipment of collection points, IMSs and all secondary hospitals as and when required.
- Operate fire tender in case of deputation as a fire engine driver.
- Check all firefighting equipment & stickers as per procedure and schedule and fill inspection check list for record.
- Check all exits as per procedure and schedule and fill inspection check list for record.
- Check fire engine pump and accessories as per check list in case of deputation as a fire engine driver.
- Check and maintain lubricating oil, fuel oil, water level and tyre pressure of the vehicle and water and foam level of tank in case deputation as a fire engine driver.
- Clean and fill fire buckets as per schedule.
Requirements:
- Matric.
- Fireman course, leading fireman course certificates from civil defence Pakistan.
- First aid course certificate from any reputable organization will be given preference.
- Possession of valid HTV driving licence in case of deputation as fire engine driver.
- Two to three year’s practical experience as a fire fighter and as a fire tender operator in case of deputation as fire engine driver.
- Must be familiar with all types of portable & trolley mounted fire extinguishers.
- Familiar with operation & use of fire water and gas suppression systems.
- Familiar with operation & use of fire fighting and rescue operation tools and accessories.
- Familiar with evacuation techniques and know to read fire and evacuation plan.
- Must be able to operate fire tender in case of deputation as a fire engine driver.
- Must be able to read, write and speak Urdu well.
