Le Collège Boréal est à la recherche d’une entraîneuse-chef ou d’un entraîneur-chef passionné et dynamique pour encadrer l’équipe de volleyball masculin dans un contexte intercollégial compétitif. Sous la supervision de la ou du gestionnaire athlétique, la personne titulaire assure la gestion efficace de l’équipe et contribue au développement du programme sportif et à la performance des athlètes de l’équipe intercollégiale, tout en offrant une expérience étudiante positive, inclusive et conforme aux valeurs du Collège. Elle est responsable du développement technique, tactique et personnel de ces athlètes, tout en veillant au respect des règlements institutionnels et sportifs, notamment ceux de l’Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) et de l’Association canadienne du sport collégial (ACSC).

Horaire : Heures variées (disponibilité en soirée et les fins de semaine)

La rémunération est établie par projet selon l'expérience (entre 10000 $ et 16 000$) et variera en fonction des activités prévues pour la saison athlétique

Fonctions :

• Recruter, sélectionner et fidéliser des athlètes admissibles, notamment en participant aux activités de recrutement, aux camps d’essai et aux événements promotionnels.
• Planifier, organiser et diriger les séances d’entraînement, les camps d’essai et les compétitions, en veillant à la sécurité, au bien-être et au développement des athlètes.
• Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des plans d’entraînement et des stratégies de match axés sur la performance et le développement à long terme.
• Représenter le Collège lors des matchs à domicile et en déplacement, au sein de la communauté sportive, ainsi que lors d’activités institutionnelles et communautaires.
• Favoriser un environnement inclusif, respectueux et équitable, valorisant la diversité, la santé mentale et le bien-être global des athlètes.
• Encadrer, soutenir et superviser le personnel d’entraînement, en favorisant un climat de collaboration et d’excellence.
• Représenter le Collège lors d’activités de recrutement locales et à l’extérieur, et promouvoir une image positive de l’équipe par une attitude exemplaire.
• Assurer une communication efficace avec les athlètes, le personnel du Collège, les officiels et les partenaires.
• Effectuer les tâches administratives requises, notamment les évaluations des athlètes, les nominations, les rapports et la participation aux rencontres de l’OCAA et de l’ACSC.
• Maintenir et développer ses compétences professionnelles par la formation continue et la participation à des activités de perfectionnement.
• Diriger et encadrer le programme de volleyball masculin en conformité avec les politiques et règlements du Collège Boréal, de l’OCAA et de l’ACSC.
• Collaborer activement avec les entraîneuses et entraîneurs adjoints, les autres membres de l’équipe d’entraînement et le secteur athlétique pour assurer la cohérence, la performance et l’atteinte des objectifs du programme.
• Observer, évaluer et identifier des pistes d’amélioration afin de contribuer à l’atteinte des objectifs et à l’amélioration continue du programme de volleyball intercollégial.

Exigences :

• Excellente connaissance des règles du volleyball intercollégial et des règlements de l’OCAA;
• Certification valide en RCR (réanimation cardio-respiratoire) et en premiers soins;
• Capacité à communiquer en français et en anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit;
• Certification Entraîneur de développement;
• S’engager à obtenir la certification Entraîneur de performance au plus tard trois ans après l’embauche;
• Maîtrise des méthodes d’entraînement modernes et avancées en volleyball (un atout);
• Minimum de deux ans d’expérience au sein d’une équipe d’entraînement, dans un contexte de haute performance;
• Expérience avérée et résultats probants comme entraîneuse ou entraîneur principal, ou comme entraîneuse ou entraîneur adjoint, à un niveau compétitif;
• Grande disponibilité et flexibilité (après-midi, soirées et fins de semaine), pour encadrer les entraînements, les matchs, les tournois et les camps d’évaluation, à domicile et en déplacement;
• Capacité à travailler efficacement sous pression, à faire preuve de jugement et de diplomatie, et à collaborer avec divers intervenants (athlètes, collègues, professionnels de la santé, direction, etc.);
• Solides compétences en leadership, en communication et en relations interpersonnelles, esprit d’équipe, sens de l’organisation et capacité démontrée à motiver et à encadrer les athlètes;
• Capacité à effectuer certaines tâches physiques liées à la mise en place du matériel sportif (filets, équipement d’entraînement, etc.);
• Volonté de contribuer à un milieu de travail collaboratif, axé sur l’excellence sportive et le développement global de l’athlète.

Collège Boréal is seeking a passionate and dynamic Head Coach to lead the men’s volleyball team in a competitive varsity setting. Reporting to the Athletics Manager, the Head Coach provides leadership for the team and supports program development and student athlete performance, while fostering a positive and inclusive student experience aligned with the College’s values. The Head Coach is responsible for the technical, tactical, and personal development of student athletes and ensures compliance with institutional and sports regulations, including those of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Work location: Collège Boréal, Sudbury

Contract term: June 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027

Schedule: Variable hours (evening and weekend availability required)

Compensation is determined on a per-project basis according to experience (between $10,000 and $16,000) and will vary depending on the activities planned for the athletic season.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, select, and retain eligible student athletes, including participating in recruitment activities, tryouts, and promotional events
• Plan, organize, and lead training sessions, tryout camps, and competitions, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of student athletes
• Develop and implement performance-focused training plans and game strategies that support long-term athlete development
• Represent the College at home and away games, within the sports community, and at institutional and community events
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and equitable environment that values diversity, mental health, and overall well-being
• Lead, support, and supervise coaching staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence
• Represent the College at local and out-of-town recruitment activities, promoting a positive image of the team through exemplary conduct
• Ensure effective communication with student athletes, College staff, officials, and partners
• Complete required administrative tasks, including athlete evaluations, nominations, reports, and participation in OCAA and CCAA meetings
• Maintain and develop professional skills through ongoing training and participation in professional development activities
• Lead the men’s volleyball program in compliance with the policies and regulations of the College, the OCAA, and the CCAA
• Collaborate actively with assistant coaches, other members of the coaching staff, and the athletics department to ensure program consistency, performance, and achievement of objectives
• Observe, assess, and identify opportunities for improvement to support goal attainment and the continuous improvement of the varsity volleyball program

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of varsity volleyball rules and OCAA regulations
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification
• Ability to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing
• Certified Development Coach
• Commitment to obtain the Performance Coach certification no later than three years after hire
• Knowledge of modern and advanced volleyball coaching methods (considered an asset)
• Minimum two years of experience as part of a coaching team in a high-performance setting
• Proven coaching experience and results as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach at a competitive level
• Availability and flexibility (afternoons, evenings, and weekends) to lead practices, games, tournaments, and evaluation camps, at home and away
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, exercise sound judgment and diplomacy, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (student athletes, colleagues, health professionals, leadership, etc.)
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; team spirit; organizational skills; and a demonstrated ability to motivate and coach student athletes
• Ability to perform certain physical tasks related to setting up athletic equipment (nets, training equipment, etc.)
• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative workplace focused on athletic excellence and the overall development of student athletes
