Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Job Description:

• Assists in providing basic emergency medical care during medical emergencies.
• Operates under the current scope of practice for emergency medical care technicians.
• Administers, monitors, and assists patients with the self-administration of medications through their administrative medical directors delegated authority.
• Gathers patient vital signs, obtains specimens, performs ordered treatments, and applies dressings.
• Recognizes and documents the signs and symptoms of medical needs warranting additional professional expertise and notifies the appropriate medical staff of changes in patient's condition, reaction to medications and/or treatments, and other significant incidents.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma/transcripts to support graduation from an EMT program as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
• Current, valid, unrestricted certification as an Emergency Medical Care Technician (EMCT) issued by the Arizona Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
• Current, completed PSV from ADHS.
• Current, completed fit testing for N95 particulate respirators.
• Current, completed First Aid Certification.
• Minimum two years of past work experience in this position.
